and who decides what can be written down and published? ruling party? the “president”? country-wide referendum? therein lies an issue, once you say “we can’t write or publish ____” you open yourself up to a whole lot of problems. your heart is in the right place but there cannot ever be anything (literally anything) that can’t be written down or published. if there is, that will eventually be weaponized to prevent writing and publishing what is dear to your heart. freedom is a bitch… :)
while I cant quite articulate exactly how I would impliment safeguards for minors or vulnerable persons, I strongly belive that rights and responsibilitys must be intrinsicly linked and that society can never drop it's guard against the cunning and clever types who cause the worst harms.
And as it stands, someone who is convicted of harming children, is encarcerated and then perhaps has requirements to "register" etc, ie: loose rights and freedoms, is it realy so far to suggest that we will have certain taboos?, but at the same time have inner city free for all zones where concenting adults can get as freeky as phisiology will permit.
Oh god so much ignorance in this comment. I wish I could downvote it. Saying they children "aren't sexual" is blatantly wrong. Children are not sexually mature, but they are indeed sexual. By the age of 7 most children are at least naturally interested/curious about sex. And this is natural, so stop idealizing children and projecting on them your moral ideals. Being innocent and being asexual are two different things.
Of course exploiting a children is wrong. In general the exploitation of innocent people is considered ethically questionable, but there are different moral standards applied to minors.
Being a paedophile is (or better, SHOLD be) NOT a crime, nor it is a perversion: it is a sexual tendency that is innate in some individuals. Abusing children IS a crime and should be prosecuted: not all child abusers are paedophiles.
These are diametrically opposite things and we should NOT allow a society to rot under the weight of bigotry and prejudice.
Fantasies are fantasies. Acts are acts. Writing a book, drawing a comic, imagining a situation are NOT violence towards others. They are NOT abuse. There is NO perversion. There should be NO crime. If individuals who think, read or fantasize on unrealistic scenarios cannot control their behavior, they need to be cured, but this does NOT make the fantasy, book or image wrong simply because it does not agree with your moral standards.
