Starting with Windows 8, there is support for C++ at the kernel level, including exceptions.

It's been possible to use a subset of C++ in kernel mode on Windows for longer than that. I have seen code that does it that predates Win8 by more than a decade. (Not that I consider it good or a good idea.)

The I/O Kit in Mac OS X has been C++ from the beginning, in kernel space (sans exceptions, though).

True, I forgot to mention it. Also on OS/400, BeOS and Symbian.
