I've talked about Dolt (Git for data) and DoltHub (GitHub for Dolt) on HackerNews before and gotten a lot of interest. We're nearing our v1.0 release and in preparation we released a Getting Started guide: https://www.dolthub.com/blog/2020-02-03-dolt-and-dolthub-getting-started/.

Using the desire to build a correlation analysis of MLB player salary and home runs. This guide walks through how to find data on DoltHub, pull it locally, and get data into your analysis tool of choice. The blog shows that player salary was more correlated to home runs during the steroid era, which is an interesting result.
