There were so many "they copied us" threads on HN, that I am starting to think that the tactic is being used to promote author's own services, rather than to serve as something else.
It could be, but it also depends highly on your JavaScripts strengths. With them you could take backbone.js, which is quite lightweight and easy to learn, and create an extended SPA framework that screams.
People who aren't doing great work at home, are less likely to do so at the office. Plus, there is overhead because you'll need to have someone to take of those people (lack of self reliance, proactivity, dedication).
