Pretty interesting! Reminds me of the opportunity solution tree framework in product development: https://www.producttalk.org/opportunity-solution-tree/

This is really cool! Thanks for sharing! Looks like I have quite a bit of reading tonight because it links out to cool articles like this: https://www.producttalk.org/2019/02/prioritize-opportunities...

A whole area of mapping!

nice post. also in the 'financial modeling for startups' space: https://foresight.is/

userapp.io

so it seems userapp.io is not very active, is the project dead?

that seems very promissing

I've used carbargains in the past and it worked very well. The service is almost identical to CarWoo's but they have been around longer. http://www.checkbook.org/auto/carbarg.cfm

The milk and packaged seafood are clearly showing Kroger's brand, so perhaps they quietly struck a deal with Ralphs/Kroger.

I think the the study he is referencing is the 1998 paper by Schmidt & Hunter. We studied it in business school. I couldn't find an actual copy of the paper but these two articles have abstracts of the findings: http://psycnet.apa.org/index.cfm?fa=buy.optionToBuy&id=1... http://www.onetest.com.au/awms/Upload/documents/whitepapers/...

Schmidt, F.L. & Hunter, J.E. (1998) The validity and utility of selection methods in personnel psychology: Practical and theoretical implications of 85 years of research findings,” Psychological Bulletin,

Thanks. I had read the conclusion I mentioned in monographs about psychology I was reading for other research interests, and I'm glad you cited a key review article. I found the article's full text

They still need to work on their pricing. They have an opportunity to convert quite a few of their non-paying customers if they'd simply offer a plan between 2GB and 50GB.

Don't forget, they also have an opportunity to downgrade quite a few of their paying customers from 50GB to e.g. 20GB.

Kayak's S1 filing has a lot of interesting nuggets of information. The data you're after is on page 29:

2007 Revenues / Net Income: $48M / ($4.36M) 2008 Revenues / Net Income: $112M / $5.1M

Keep in mind they acquired SideStep at the end of 07.
