Google's sitespeed tool only has a, usually quite small, 'sample' of your speed time.

You can increase your sampling to rate to as high as you want, even 100%: https://developers.google.com/analytics/devguides/collection...

The cap is 10K visits/day.

Thanks for this! I manage a bunch of sites that get less than 10k visits/day and I always thought the speed data was really lacking. This is a huge help.

Increasingly you get led down an endless paper trail of showing documentation, code reviews & ccra is now in the business of sicking auditors on claims to aggressively deny them. Wasted time & headaches.

This has not been my experience at all, over the past few years.

Go to an info session to find out exactly what CRA's eligibility rules are. It is not that difficult to apply. Generally I have found their attitude to be "the money is there and we really want to give it to you -- because it comes from the taxpayer we just need to do due diligence that what you are claiming is in accordance with the tax act"

Many people miss a main point of Objectivism that sacrificing & helping others makes a person happy too. Hence you should do so in pursuing your best interests.

I think it gets left out as many feel they're coerced to do it now.

I bought the ebook version of Running Lean... it had quite a few diagrams that are quite useless in that form. I imagine business books with lots of diagrams. This might suffer from the ebook format too.

Lean startup SaaS tools bundling for cost is an idea I'm vetting now: leanmeanbundlemachine.com

Having read some of the comments already I vote heartily for radiant heating floors, green tech which does not cause more maintenance proceedures/confusion for next buyer, proper amounts of electrical plugs (id put them in the floor in the main living areas or at least at the very base of the floor molds. Lots of houses have ethernet cabling... I think you're safe with that. Air exchanges aren't sexy, but awesome.

hack summer - partly screened in deck/porch from mosquitos are wonderful.

I'm gonna second radiant heat in the floor. You'll never regret it.

as replied up the thread...

[I run osdir.com] Just to be clear we're not scraping content nor SEOing to death. We've been running our mailing list archive for almost 8 years.

To quote Matt_Cutts somewhere else in this thread: 'because USENET/mailing lists don't always have a centralized/canonical location on the web, which makes dupe content more of a potential issue. It's not the usual "Website X copied my website" scenario.'

If you dislike us that's cool, but just know we're not showing in your SERPs because of scraping & SEO trickery. A lot of people, maybe not you, really are finding their answer there. There's a lot of solid answers in inboxes.

I see. I bear you no ill will. I just happened to one day start seeing LOTS of osdir and markmail results in my searches. And it's not even that I mind what osdir does (I did find answers there), but that it's UI is worse than the original site and I feel that the originals should be given higher weight.

Hey cellis, thanks. What I see in cases where we come up higher in SERPs is that the crawler just hasn't found the best content in google groups yet, if ever. I scratch my head over that one too, but ours is not to reason why. I don't see the index pointing to the same content in the landing pages typically either with my queries.

UI: LOL, yeah, it's a toss up here whether to make it prettier or keep it a bit old school.

what can I use to create the rock garden border they have in the reception: http://picasaweb.google.com/spolsky/FogCreekSNewOffice#52853...

Looks like paper mache made out of $100 bills, formed into a curvy box, and then painted with pure silver sprinkled with crushed black diamonds to darken it a bit and then laser etched inside of the Macbook factory to make it lose it's luster.

youtube scaled on serverbeach. 'nuff said frankly.

I however would do AWS without question. (already on AWS, was on serverbeach - loved them though)

Actually, youtube was on serverbeach until they had to scale. They immediately moved to colo and CDN.
