Compensation for Full stack Lead Engineer?

Location: India. Currently working remotely from Kolkata.

Remote: Yes — global remote OK. Full overlap with EU timezones; ~4–5 hours overlap with US ET.

Willing to relocate: Bangalore / Hyderabad only (open to hybrid or in-office).

Experience: Currently Principal Engineer at GoDaddy (~10 yrs total experience). Previously at Atlassian and Adobe. Worked in-office for ~4 years then remote for ~6 years. Worked across platform teams and customer-facing product teams, building large-scale backend and infra systems.

Technologies: Go, Java, Ruby, Python, C++, JavaScript; Multithreading; AWS cloud services, DevOps practices - CI/CD, Infra as Code, Docker; Microservices, Event-driven architecture - Kafka, Kinesis, SQS, SNS; Observability 2.0, Databases - MySQL, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Redis, Elasticsearch. Annual Compensation Expectation: 170K+ USD, equivalent to 1.5 crore+ in Indian currency (fixed + bonus + listed equity). Not counting unlisted equity unless regular buyback exists.

You are not exactly deploying an entire OS as the overhead of that would be huge. You are deploying an isolated process group having the bells and whistles of the OS you like.

New Relic supports this in the form of custom events. I have used it and it works but is very expensive. An alternative is to use ClickhouseDB directly.

Does it support "native sampling" described in the article? This is really important to keep the cost low.
