Much better than many native libraries.
I added some extra node modules for some specific calls I needed and it went smooth. I'm now converting a second desktop app because it went so well.
What disturbs me the most is the numerous process launched. Neither of them really big. I learned that it's also a benefit. not having total scope of a desktop app when you embed HTML+Javascript from uncontrolled sources.
Agreed, I'm back to thinking desktop apps, thanks to electron. I did a project with Qt last december. It's usable but very old style and the license is not very permissive. A small electron app is not as heavy as I though first.
I'd recommend checking out Bootstrap Datatables. You just include the cdn link and select the table to style via javascript/jquery. Very simple and you get column sorting, paging, and search.
